The universe is conspiring with my love of donkeys.  The inspiration for this piece is a donkey belonging to a new friend, and she was sweet enough to send me his photo earlier this week.  Yay!  Thanks, friend!  Just as with Bubbles, this piece took some time, mostly because I was enjoying having Sparky in the studio and didn't want to be finished with him.  These guys are helping me learn to work multiple pieces simultaneously, and likely that's a good skill to have.

The substrate for "Sparky" is reclaimed wood of a different sort - thinner, more porous and with more wood grain.  But not found by the curb this time.  Nope, this was in the trash bin at the Home Depot cutting station.  And the nice man let me rescue it, along with several other pieces, and take them home for free.  He's created a monster now, because I will be back every week.  Muwahaha.

There was a lunar eclipse last night - could you feel it?  It's a messy one.  All about releasing the truth and facing what you might have been ignoring.  You might remember an earlier post on the theme "Life is Messy" - this eclipse uncannily continues that theme, except in relationships.  There may be people exiting your life this month, or you might find yourself emotional, angry and upset as your blinders are removed and the truth becomes clear.  What's the best fix for that?  Creativity!  Whatever is revealed during this moon will bring growth and renewal on the other side.  So channel your frustrations into your chosen media, and surf the wave of this moon into something bigger and better.
