"Lucy" - needle felted wool over armature.  Inquiries.

Inigo: That a miracle pill?
Valerie: The chocolate coating makes it go down easier, but you have to wait fifteen minutes for full potency, and he shouldn't go in swimming after for at least--
Miracle Max: An hour--
Valerie: Yeah, an hour--
Miracle Max: A good hour.
Inigo: Thank you for everything.

from The Princess Bride
A miracle pill!

We all want one.  To cure whatever ails us.  But sometimes it is nothing but rest, liquids, binge watching and making needle felted lambs.

"Lucy" was a new challenge (and not just because I was feverish).  The armature underneath is very pliable (because lambs are unsteady on their feet, I suppose) so every time I worked on one part of her, the other part became, well, oddly shaped.  But I hung in there and this sweet petunia is now my favorite.  Fluffy goodness with a little pink to make us say "awwwww."

Pongo has noticed me eyeing him oddly as I convalesced this week.  I blame it on the art.  Once you begin creating something in 3D, you then look at everything (even your dog) and wonder "what kind of armature would I build to sculpt a [fill in the blank]?"  In this case, a Great Dane.   The ducks in the backyard are feeling the same eyeball.  And my husband, well, let's just say he'd better not sit still too long or I will begin measuring his arms and legs for a properly proportioned armature.

But for today the wool is all gone, so until the next truck delivers a package of fluffy goodness on my doorstep, it is back to the studio to throw some paint.

Lucy has me in her thrall! She is SOOOO sweet.

From Gail Godwin's novel Evensong: "When Adrian and I were driving through Yorkshire on our honeymoon, the landscape was dotted with newborn lambs. Up and down the green slopes they raced, tottering on their wobbly legs, deviling one another, nipping at their mothers’ undersides."

You've brought the wobbly, devilish, nipping sweetness to life exquisitely, Jen!

ooooh Dotty! Thank you! What a perfect, delightful quote...Lucy is all blushy and proud of herself now. :) Wobbly is right...the armature is so like the lamb. But I am happy I stuck with it. Lucy makes me smile!

Here's the blue wild, where
tiny dreamers ride beasts, speak
 birdsong, hold the moon.
