"Super Girl" - mixed media on aquabord, 6" x 6"
Let's face it - life is too busy! This is one of those weeks where I wasn't sure how on earth I was going to get it all done. But I did! With my new favorite trick: setting an intention and repeating it like a mantra. This week, my intention was "I can do all that needs to be done." And after repeating it about a hundred times a day, I actually did accomplish all that was needed. Today was quite over scheduled and hectic. This morning as I was getting dressed, it dawned on me I had been pulling my hair up into a messy bun in the morning while I worked around the house. Somehow, the hair I intended to do something with before I left the house ended up in that same messy bun all day long. I completely forgot to go back and fix it. Now this is not a big problem. But the fact I completely forgot something as basic and girly as styling my hair every day gave me a wee bit of insight into how crazy the week had been. So after I had this realization, and while I was actually doing something with my hair this morning, it dawned on me that the messy bun would look completely hilarious if I were wearing a red superhero cape (because I felt like super woman all week long!) Of course I dashed into the studio to paint a new playmate with bun and cape. And guess what? She wasn't so ridiculous after all. Rather confident and serene, calm and ready for action. It put my week into a whole new light, and left me with a big smile. I may begin wearing a cape around the house while repeating the mantra "I can do ANYTHING!" This piece is available, unframed.
