![]() "Alice" - acrylic on aquabord, 6" x 6" We're on the road today, so I am working small and with limited supplies. But the great part is - a muse came with me! Sweet Alice, my dad's boxer. Thanks to her, I received today's message from the animal world. Except it didn't come from her; it came from a bald eagle Now what to bald eagles have to do with boxers? Nothing, really, except that Alice likes to go out on the leash a lot. And today, when she really really wanted some fresh air, I relented and put her on the leash. No sooner had we stepped outside than a bald eagle flew right overhead. I couldn't believe it! Had to run in an consult my dad's Audubon bird book to make sure I had seen what I thought I saw. Of course, I then looked up with the bald eagle means as an animal totem. If an eagle appears to you, you are being put on notice to be courageous and to stretch your limits. Reach higher than you think you can! You are getting ready to take flight. Part of the courage eagle wants you to have is to let go of stale habits and ways which no longer serve your highest purpose. Now is the time to take full responsibility for your life - and be prepared! Destiny is coming fast. When the details of day-to-day life are weighing you down and your perspective is lost, the eagle calls you to expand your view to a larger perspective. Now this part really resonates with me during a time of multi-tasking and many daily challenges. Eagle totems provide stamina and resilience to face whatever challenges lie ahead, all while providing a broader view and expanded personal freedom. How often can a person walk the dog and receive all this wisdom? Apparently, anyone can if they are walking Alice. Who knew? This boxer is something special. This piece is available, unframed.
