30 Paintings in 30 Days - Day Ten

Day ten has been super strange.  

It began with a midnight migraine which put me in the studio at about 4 a.m.  Now nothing but malarkey comes out of the studio at that time of day, so is there any surprise I am presenting you with a family of Russian nesting dolls?

In the wee hours of the morning, while scrounging for canvases, I came across this spectacular set of unfinished wood nesting dolls which my sister had given me for Christmas.  What better canvas than that ?  So I plunged right in and began painting.  Before I knew it, several hours had passed and the rest of the household was up and at 'em, and I was nearly done with my project of the day!  Even better, I had distracted myself from my headache and accomplished something at the same time.  (yahoo!)

I wondered as I painted these little cuties if it would put me in the mood for the holidays early (like the holiday section in several major stores which is ALREADY UP!  Eeeeeeee gads!)  It did not.  It did, however, make me appreciate the predictability of canvas, board and paper, which I will undoubtedly choose the next time I am forced to play in the studio at an ungodly time of morning.  

As this challenge does for me every time it comes around, I am thrilled at the things I will try when forced to create a finished piece every day.  It is like extreme painting - and I feel like a champion!
