I have a fascination with crows.  In the past, they have stalked me.  Again and again, they call out to me as a spirit animal (not the most glamorous of animal totems, right? But oozing mystery and intelligence) and this week they are back with a vengeance.

Given they are insisting on getting my attention, I thought I would delve a little deeper into the meaning of the crow totem.  

Crow is known as the left-handed guardian. Now I find this eerily wonderful as I am left-handed as well.  Crow is also reputed to be the guardian of ceremonial magic and healing.  In the past year, I've become a bit ceremonial in my own life - little things which bring an instant calm to my day, whether it be a particular essential oil in my diffuser or special stones on my nightstand to bring healing when needed.  

When Crow appears to you, he may be telling you change is coming in your life, and to be prepared to give up old ways of thinking.  Whoa!  Change is coming?  Wait!  I thought change was already here and then some!  Okay, so I better hang on to my hat.  Apparently Crow thinks I enjoy roller-coaster rides, because this year has been one.  An interesting thing about change.  The more I experience it, the more my way of thinking changes as well. And that's a good thing.

Crow spirit has to do with having a powerful voice and speaking the truth.  No candy-coated blandishments from people with a crow totem.  I used to see that as one of my faults.  But as I grow older (and a bit wiser), I can see how much I appreciate straight-speak from others.  Crow wants you to speak your truth and walk the path of personal integrity, and promises if you do so, you will never feel alone.
