A Week of Napping

"Dancing Malou"  - the third in a series of mixed media on reclaimed wood, 6" x 18"

The joy of wood continues, with exquisitely grainy textures and moody undertones.  "Malou" was born on a day when my insides felt like dancing, even if my outsides needed a nap.

The past week has been mostly about napping.  Napping and binge-watching garbage-y shows that I could fall asleep to without missing anything.  And ice packs.  Lots and lots of ice packs.  I am beginning to feel the joy of hibernating - getting really in sync with my body and allowing it to dictate my activities.  This is in stark contrast to my normal mode, which is to push until the list is done regardless of how I feel. My superwoman cape is in the drawer, waiting until I get stronger.

Do you recall an earlier post where I was pursuing boredom to spark creativity?  Well here it is!  There is a ton of boredom going on!  But amazing things are happening...little insights in to my process, creative brainstorms, deep contemplation and a whole lot of lovely doodling.   None of which was likely to happen if I was going a mile a minute.

So the universe, in its infinite wisdom, has given me lovely stay-cation before my trip to Ireland, filling me with ideas, inspiration and enthusiasm while simultaneously building my strength.  I just love it when the universe is so smart. :)

You have found that WONDERFUL silver lining from your bicycle accident. Funny how you can still be productive during "down" time?!?!? "Dancing Malou" is lovely and I especially like her quixotic smile - it does add a little romantic pondering to the mix!! Keep on napping until you are ready to BOLDLY GO WHERE JEN HAS NEVER BEEN BEFORE Ireland!!! Be well, Jen - SOON👏🏻🤗👍‼️‼️

Here's the blue wild, where
tiny dreamers ride beasts, speak
 birdsong, hold the moon.
