Gladys and the Pips

"Gladys and the Pips" - mixed media on cradled wood panel, 16" x 20" x 1.5".  Ready to hang.  Available here and at Artfinder.

It is whimsical week in the studio, where anything can happen!  An antlered rabbit named Gladys appeared on the board.  She takes her singing career seriously.

In this piece, water-based inks were mixed with acrylic white gesso to generate vibrant colors that go on smoothly with a matte finish.  And quite a few coconut caramels were consumed (Gladys' favorite treat, I discovered).

This particular painting is a really big deal...it is number one thousand.  That's right, 1,000 pieces of art created by these two hands since 2009. It also marks a decade of painting and doodling and dabbling and making malarkey in the world.  Whoa.  This calls for cake!

WOW! 1000 Congrats! And you managed to keep count! Those birds are singing your triumph! How you manage to find so many interesting animals is beyond my comprehension! A Bunny with antlers... now what will the goat have?

Carol, as a reformed banker, I still use spreadsheets....it is a habit I cannot break! ha ha! So every painting is catalogued and accounted for. And triumphant singing birds - YAY! Thank you! Pondering the goat's accoutrements....
