This is the second collaboration for Cox and Walls, whose first book, blue wild, was published in November 2016. Since then, the two have weathered storms and life events, always finding inspiration, connection and healing through the mixed-media language of art and poetry.

I waited in eager anticipation the collaboration of Mary W Cox & Jen Walls, becoming SUNRISE. I have sat and gone through this small, but mighty, gem of a book, more than once already, and it did not disappoint! Mary's words, soft, serene, poignant, and humorous. More than once my mouth curved into a smile, or a reflective "aha" crossed through my mind. Truly, ingenious! Her words bring life and new meaning to each painting as you sit and study the words that accompany the art. Her insight into Jen's work is incredible. Jen, a fabulous, and fearless, artist, no matter the medium, is comfortable in her own skin and her art reflects the journey she has made to self discovery.
