The view inside my mind stays firmly in the Columbia River Gorge...vast skies, basalt spires, misty horizons and every shade of gray. It is becoming so much a part of me that I feel it in my spirit deeply. It makes me sing and laugh, smile and weep, catch my breath and sigh. It is softening my heart. I feel myself opening and becoming braver, even as my thighs scream at the final assent, even as my lungs beg for mercy at the millionth steep switchback. With each step, each hike, each view - my edges are becoming polished and the light begins to come through.

I love watching the painting be birthed. If you're using acrylic, what's dripping after the water application?

Carol! Hooray! Thanks for watching! That is the acrylic mixing with the water. If I time the spray just right (within 30 seconds or so of applying the paint), I can get it to move. A little longer and I can pull paint off in streaks with a paper towel or wedge. Too soon and it's just mud. All about the timing...

Mesmerized with your video! Love the drips and drops. Techniques I used when doing my acrylic painting was to make a very milky color and spread it over and then hold the substrate vertically.... if it didn't drip I would spray more water at the bottom edge and blot drips I didn't like. It works with oils and OMS.

Carol! I am delighted you like the video! And thanks for the tips...I had no idea it could be done with oils!

I am learning lots with my ColdWaxAcademy. Using OMS as a reduction reveals underlying layers. Also there are pours! Haven't been that successful. Still learning!! Always learning better than watching the news!
