Cotton Candy Bears on a Winter's Eve
"Cotton Candy Bears on a Winter's Eve" - acrylic on cradled wood panel, 8" x 10" x 1".  Ready to hang.  Available here and at Artfinder.

Whimsy wonderland continues in the studio!  This week couple of bears - one of whom seems to be getting around the easy way. Which is what I wish I could do this week.  Low energy slugfest here.  It would be lovely to hitch a ride on a big snuggly bear and run errands like a lazy lima bean.

As we emerge from winter here in the PNW, assaulted by a frenzy of blooming color on every street, I imagine the forest bears emerging in a snuggly mass of cotton candy colored fur.  After all, it is Portland. :)

Whatever did I do before there was an intern?

This week we present a video on how a painting begins (last time we showed you the ending).  And if you turn up the sound, you will be able to enjoy my tiny anthem as part of the show.

A pencil sketch on wood panel...then painting out the background, adding those lovely florescent colors to the underpainting.  Then a bit of this and a spot of that, until personalities begin to emerge.  Sweetness!

Susan! yay! Yep, righty and lefty...but only in painting and writing. I have to throw a baseball with my right hand, and use a fork with my left. But I think I could eat cotton candy with either hand. :)
