That's how the madness of the world tries to colonize you: from the outside in, forcing you to live in its reality. - Jeff VanderMeer, Annihilation
There is a lot of madness in the world right now.  And there are days where it feels a bit like that madness is trying to colonize all the places where joy resides.  The chaos and confusion and struggle and suffering wants to become the only reality.  Finding a way to balance attention to the outside issues with peace and joy on the inside is a daily practice now.

It helps me to imagine that outer chaos as a monster of sorts - something large and many limbed lurking and wanting to find a way in.  Do I want that living inside of me?  Heck no!  Ignore the fact that a blue tentacled creature draped around me might indeed make me look fabulous.  Future fashion?

About the art:  well what do you know!  I have a video!

From the Outside In is a ferociously fabulously apt painting for RIGHT NOW!

Magically and magnificently, it also carries in it the beauty and joy of RIGHT NOW, current chaos and confusion be damned!

******* WELL DONE *******

Annnnnnnnd: WOOT WOOT to your VIDEO. You're a gal after my own heart with your eyes-wide-open to all manner of substrates and approaches to art. Yes, yes, yes!

Indeed- so much madness happening right now!
I have decided this home, this land, these animals are my safe space. I do not discuss any worldly things here, nor do I allow my mind to wander into the madness. This is my home no uninvited guests allowed!
When I am in the world lots of worldly things are discussed and contemplated.
Thatโ€™s my best at trying to find balance ๐Ÿ˜Š
I do not want to wear all these tentacles lol
Beautiful work ๐Ÿ˜

Trina!!! Oh wow - I have been mulling your comment all morning! What a great idea - keeping the outside out, and making the inside a sanctuary! YES! And well, tentacled accessories aren't for everyone, I guess. ha ha! xoxoxo

Love the stunning painting, and I totally can relate! Like you, my hair is curly and whips about. And I am laughing thinking of those curls today as blue and tentacle-y! Yes.
Oh the video wouldnt open for me, not sure why. But it must be working, just not over here.

Thea!!! Ha ha! We could totally have tentacle hair! And BLUE! Would be such fun - especially if the arms worked? Imagine all we could accomplish! :)

Thanks for your feedback on the video. I've added a link to the video on YouTube for anyone who is unable to open it in the blog. xoxoxo
