"Clive" - mixed media on paper.  Private commission.

A fowl Monday!  It's raining roosters and hens.  And cats and dogs and buckets and tubs.  We're channeling our inner Ireland here the past week or so.  I like it, but not so much the golfer in the house or the mammoth dog who misses his long walks.

A group of courageous creatives are gathering to tackle three days of abstraction starting this morning.  Wherever you are, if you feel a burst of magic streaming straight up into the sky from somewhere in Fort Lauderdale, that will be us.  I do believe the creative energy of a group can magnify, echo, resonate and LAUNCH into the atmosphere.  The muse is like that.  She packs rocket launchers in her paint brushes.

Instead of a long post today (since I am racing off to teach a class), here is a link to an article published today by The Rickie Report, which I am thrilled to have written!

And if you need more fowl humor today, here's the trailer for "Chicken Run", one of my favorite feathered movies by the creators of Wallace and Gromit, my ultra favorite animated series.  BaGAWK!

BaGAWK! Jen, thank you for sharing Clive, your lively article in The Rickie Report, and a snippet of Chicken Run. We had wild turkeys gobbling in our neighborhood for quite awhile around dawn today, so your post was malarkily fitting—BaGAWK! Great article! Have fun flapping your abstract wings today : )

No turkeys around here, wild or otherwise. Just the occasional visit of Bella the neighborhood chicken, that just loves cat food. Thanks for all the links. Love little Clive wishing everyone a happy day. Just looking at him brings a BIG smile! Great article I will closer at that book!

PS: Have you found the book helpful with your paintings? Color is one of my biggest obstacles.

Color is so tough! The book helps when I take the time to pull out my watercolors and mix them to match the colors in the book. It deepens my understanding of how to get to the colors I want, and also how many subtle variations of color there are!

Here's the blue wild, where
