Well I had to go search what animals are considered varmint.....and was quite surprised to learn the fox is one! So I am voting a fox but only because I don’t remember seeing one you’ve painted before?

I’m a big fan of the 3 toed sloth as far as varmints go.

Growing up in North Carolina, I heard just about any kind of beast called varmint--though the term usually referred to a critter you didn't want in your back yard or garden. Sometimes the word even referred to critters of the two-legged variety, as in, "You ornery varmint!" (Or maybe I'm remembering that one from my brother's viewing of Hopalong Cassidy on TV.)

Mary! Varmints are, indeed, those thieving no-good rascals that we don't want in the yard! Or those two-legged ornery varmints! Ha ha! And who knew Hopalong Cassidy would be mentioned in this blog? Ha ha! (Wonder Mike says thank you for participating!)

I have a rabbit in the neighborhood who on occasion loves to eat the beautiful potted flowers by my front door. I suspect it got a little more than it bargained for after eating all the pansies and then moving onto the Black Pearl pepper plant! 🥵 It dropped that like a hot potato on my doormat.

Gretchen! Rabbits can indeed be varmints! I can just see that reaction when the pepper plant was sampled...OMG! And Wonder Mike says thank you for entering! Winner announced next week!

I'm going with the badger (the North American variety). It's not a cuddly, sweetie-pie creature. Don't mess (more polite term) with the badger! These days, the badger and I have a lot in common.

Carol! Love the badger and its crankiness. And you, cuddly sweetie-pie, are no badger. :)
